«Bouzouki Communications»

Ιανουάριος25

Have you ever been in Greece? Even if you haven't you must have heard of this lovely, tranditional instrument called "bouzouki". What is quite difficult to have heard of is about it's communicative aspects!

But let's take it step by step to help you understand. For the moment forget anything about music and follow the thoughts. For example: Have you ever been constantly talking about an arrangement with somebody for a while? I'm sure you have. Were you sure that the person you were talking with was a mature adult, with whom you were absolutely communicating? You know you were convienced that you didn't had to press anybody for anything, that the person you were in touch with understood what you were talking about and agreed… BUT! Sudenly, just when you where absolutely sure that you were about to come up with an arrangement you find out that your "partener" agreed on evething you've talked about and he or she was absolutely willing to act as you were thinking about but wasn't yet ready enough to do so!

You haven't? OH! Come on! Then think about an other option. You and your best friends are planning a small nice trip for a certain occazion, lets say your very best friend's marriage in a city several miles away. You are discusing about it for a whole month, you are making plans about what the way you'll go there, which is the best time to leave and come back, if you are going to make your friend a surprise or not and many many other cute ideas. Everething is perfect! Everything has been set up. You've decided on every tiny, single detail. You are ready to mount on the bus that will get you to the dream place and… POP you missed a tiny – tiny detail! Your friends believe it wasn't necessary to book for the tickets in time, despite your helpless cries all this time!

It still doesn't remind you anything? What a lucky person you are! You've never been a victim of a typical greek "bouzouki communication"! If you did, then I can do nothing but welcome you to the cute and "relaxed" world of "Bouzouki Communications"!

As for me, I've just been one of these poor victimes and I couldn't resist… I had to express my pain one way or an other!

P.S. As you may have finaly understand, "Bouzouki Communication" (in a very light translation) is a greek expression for absolutely messed up communications, arangements and agreements.

P.P.S If you believe this is a personal mesage to you trying to make you apologize for some failed arrangements, you may think twice if you want to apologize by posting a comment here. It may be used as guilt evidence. ;-)
